526 Media Group has completed the acquisition of Bedford Falls Communications based in Watertown, Wisconsin. The purchase will better serve readers and advertisers of both organizations while further extending 526 Media Group’s leadership position in the building and materials industry markets. As another step in building 526 Media Group’s impressive audience in what it considers the American Bedrock Infrastructure Industries (ABII), the addition of Bedford Falls brings together mutually beneficial audiences ranging from forestry, building materials, builders and contractors to now fabricators, architects and designers in the rapidly expanding vertical of panel processing.

“The acquisition of Bedford Falls Communications brings to us an amazing team of talented and passionate professionals, combined with the industry’s most respected publications, digital assets and events,” said Patrick Adams, 526 Media Group’s president. “By making Bedford Falls part of the 526 Media Group family, we can further extend their leadership position and bring new resources and tools to our readers and advertisers.

“First and foremost, this is about serving people: staff, clients and readers,” Adams said. “We are excited to continue delivering the highest quality publications while finding new ways to lead the industry.”

John Aufderhaar, president of Bedford Falls Communications, said the sale presents an exciting opportunity for all involved.

“Readers, advertisers and others who have relationships with Bedford Falls should be assured not only that business will proceed as before but will be energized and expanded by the merging of Bedford Falls’ assets with those of 526 Media Group,” Aufderhaar said. “If you liked doing business with Bedford Falls before, you’ll see even greater benefits under the new ownership and structure.

“526 Media Group provides a wonderful opportunity to leverage assets from both organizations, creating synergy across all titles and brands,” Aufderhaar said. “Positioning Bedford Falls for continued growth was my top priority. As part of 526 Media, we now have the infrastructure and critical mass to achieve that growth. Under the direction of Patrick Adams, 526 Media is uniquely suited to provide the leadership to get there.”

All existing staff and titles will remain in effect, and Aufderhaar has agreed to stay on board to oversee ongoing strategy and operations in the Wisconsin office.

Bedford Falls publishes Surface & Panel magazine, which covers the composite panel and decorative surface industries. It also coordinates industry events and produces an e-newsletter and two websites, surfaceandpanel.com and materialicious.com.
