Inland Builders Supply, Blythe, Ca., has purchased 111-year-old, third-generation-owned Imperial Hardware Co., Holtville, Ca., and is transforming its three stores from Do it Centers to Ace Hardware formats.
All three Imperial Do it Center branches—Holtville, El Centro, and Brawley, Ca.—are undergoing full renovations, including refreshed interiors, exteriors and sign. Grand openings are planned for October.
While the other locations remained open to customers during the conversions, the landmark Holtville facility, opened in 1908, was temporarily closed to customers. Phil Heald, 81-year-old grandson of founder Howard Meyer, had been serving as CEO.
