Auburn Ace Hardware, Auburn, Ca., is moving to a larger storefront.

Owners Darek and Carrie Borba purchased a 19,500-sq. ft. former Rite Aid Pharmacy building, which will replace the 12,500-sq. ft. location they currently lease.

They will extensively remodel and expect to move in before the end of the year.

More room will allow them to expand all departments, add new products and brands—including an outdoor patio and BBQ area, and increase the size of its parking lot from 10 spaces to 70.

The Borbas purchased the business in 2005, converted it from True Value to Ace in 2018, and have been looking for larger quarters for several years.
