CNRG is making plans to take over seven locations in Northern California that were once home to Orchard Supply Hardware stores.
Locals will find several similarities, one being the name. The store will be called Outdoor Hardware Supply, and while the company will bring its own merchandising assortment to the stores, the new brand “will strive to honor the long-standing appeal of Orchard Supply to local consumers,” by offering “many of the same products and services for which the locations were known and loved,” John Sieggreen, CNRG president, said a news release.
The Collierville, Tn.-based multi-brand hardware retailer willtake over seven OSH locations in Northern California including Napa Valley, Berkeley and Livermore. CNRG is currently operating 104 hardware stores, home centers and lumberyards in 14 states, and expects the new stores to begin opening as early as September. These will be the company’s first in California.
Last year Orchard Supply Hardware’s parent company, Lowe’s, announced that after 87 years, the hardware chain would close all of its 99 home improvement stores.
