Ivey’s Building Materials Center celebrated the grand opening of its newest location in Blanchard, La., on Sept. 14. This marks its third location in Northwest Louisiana.

Owners Mitch and Pam Johnson kicked off festivities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday morning. After the ceremony, community members enjoyed refreshments from local food trucks, including Down South Dogs, La Reyna A Del Sur, Sneaux Mobile, and Wiser Time. They also had opportunities to check out vendor demonstrations with representatives from Allura, Cameron Ashley, and Milwaukee and meet the Louisiana State University fishing team. The first 100 shoppers also received a free Ivey’s Building Materials Center five-gallon bucket, plus a 20% discount on anything they could fit inside the bucket.

Throughout the weekend, shoppers entered to win door prizes, including a Cutco Fisherman’s Solution Knife, two DEWALT 12V/20V Jobsite Bluetooth® Speakers, an Echo Gas-Powered String Trimmer, a Finish Systems air compressor, a Greenworks 24V 6” Cordless Battery Brushless Pruner Saw, and a Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ 2-Tool Combo Kit: Hammer Drill/Impact.

Located at 5312 North Market Street, the brand-new, ground-up building materials center features 26,000 sq. ft. of retail and warehouse space, including an expansive outdoor lumberyard. The center features an extensive selection of treated lumber, roofing and building materials, and paint and paint supplies, as well as a wide selection of home improvement tools.

It also features a showroom with a variety of flooring options. Ivey’s Building Materials Center has a modern design, a clean and organized layout, a wide product selection, and turnkey services, making it an ideal shopping destination for professional contractors and DIYers alike.

“We’re incredibly excited to have opened our third location here in northwest Louisiana,” said Owner Mitch Johnson. “The positive response from the community has been truly humbling, and we’re grateful for the support we’ve received. We look forward to continuing to serve our neighbors with the high-quality building materials and home improvement products they need to make their projects a success.”

Founded in 1969 by Mack and Roy Ivey in Logansport, LA, Ivey Lumber quickly grew under Mack’s leadership, built on honesty, relationships, and going the extra mile with his relaxed, humorous touch. After relocating to Mansfield in 1982, the business expanded further. Though Mack passed in 1988, his legacy of service and kindness lives on. Today, Ivey’s is a destination for DeSoto Parish shoppers and a trusted partner for contractors across Northwest Louisiana, with locations in Mansfield, Haughton, and Blanchard.

Ivey’s Building Materials Center is backed by the strength of its status as a member-owner of Do it Best, a US-based hardware, lumber, and building materials co-op with thousands of independently owned locations in the United States and more than 50 other countries. The Shreveport store hours are Monday–Friday 7 am–6 pm and Saturday 8 am–5 pm.
