Lugbill Supply Center, Archbold, Oh., has acquired Affiliated Lumber in Swanton, Oh., as part of an aggressive growth strategy, expanding its operation to two locations in northwestern Ohio.

This acquisition strengthens the commitment of both locally-owned businesses to providing high-quality lumber and building materials, home improvement products, and comprehensive services to their professional contractors and do-it-yourself customers.

“I have a long-term plan to serve the Northern Ohio and Northeastern Indiana regions, and Affiliated Lumber was a perfect fit for several reasons,” explained Lugbill Supply Center president Isaac Weber. “Their geographic location and dedication to customer service aligned with my vision and values, plus they have solid growth potential. We’ve already established a synergy by sharing inventory to better serve our customers, and I’m excited about how our combined buying power will help grow our businesses. Many folks have a ‘small town, big price’ mindset, but that’s just not the case at Lugbill or Affiliated Lumber. We’re already priced to compete with big boxes, and we’re only going to become more competitive.”

Affiliated Lumber has built its 70-plus-year reputation as the first-choice source for quality lumber and building materials among pro contractors in Northwest Ohio. Weber attributed this legacy to president Tom Miller and general manager TW Churchill: “Home builders and home remodeling companies trust Tom, TW, and their team for their quality products and solutions-oriented customer service, and I intend to honor that legacy by expanding their product selection and service territory.”

Weber said he plans to retain all Affiliated Lumber associates: “They have great employees who know their products and know how to take care of customers, and we’re already working really well together.”

According to Weber, this acquisition is the first step toward growing the Lugbill Supply Center business. “Consolidation seems to be a focus across industries,” said Weber. “I’m open to additional acquisitions, but I’m also interested in new ground-up locations. Either way, my goal is to be a destination for both small-town communities and pro contractors. They shouldn’t have to drive 20-plus miles or to multiple locations to get what they need.”

Lugbill Supply Center is backed by the strength of its status as a member-owner of Do it Best, a

US-based hardware, lumber, and building materials co-op with thousands of independently

owned locations in the United States and more than 50 other countries. The two-store operation offers a strong product mix of lumber and building materials, home improvement supplies, farm and ranch supplies, plumbing and electrical supplies, hand and power tools, and much more.
