After serving the Butte, Mt., area since 1988, Triple “S” Building Center is rebranding to Mead Lumber, effective Aug. 26, 2024. This milestone represents an important move toward consolidating Mead Lumber’s identity under a single brand, all while continuing to uphold the exceptional service and quality that customers in Butte know and trust.

Started in 1988 in Butte, Montana, by Milo Stordahl, Triple “S” swiftly became a leader in western Montana, earning a reputation for its dedication to customer satisfaction. Over the last several years, Milo’s sons, Doug and Dave Stordahl, were co-owners of Triple “S” and lead it to its current growth and position in the market. In 2022, the company was acquired by Mead Lumber, a leading building materials supplier, with 53 locations in nine states.

In 2023, Mead Lumber embarked on a thorough rebranding initiative to unify its business units under a consistent identity. This renaming effort demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing a seamless brand experience for its customers.

Although the name has changed, customers can be confident that the core values and exceptional service will stay the same. Doug Stordahl has and will remain running the location, and the same team that has served the community for years will continue to do so with the same dedication and expertise.

“While the name is changing, it’s important to emphasize that everything our customers value—the people, products, and service—will remain the same,” said Dave Anderson, president and CEO of Mead Lumber. “We’re thrilled to begin this new chapter in Butte and can’t wait to celebrate this significant milestone with the community.”

Mead Lumber is a 100% Employee Owned company that has become one of the leaders in the building materials industry, ranking in the top 12 nationally for companies serving Professional Builders.
