Bralys Ace Hardware, Palestine, Tx., is opening a branch in Jacksonville, Tx., on Oct. 1.
Sam Braly, son of owners Stephen and Vicki Braly, will manage the new location, representing the fifth generation of Bralys in the 92-year-old business.
A grand opening is planned for Nov. 1-3, to feature grilling and product demonstrations by vendors such as Milwaukee Tools and Stihl, and drawing prizes that will include a Yeti cooler, Traeger grill, Benjamin Moore Paint-a-Room package, and Turtlebox speaker.
The new location will employ 20 full-time workers and, unlike in Palestine, will be open on Sundays.
The site is a former bank building that’s four stories high. Merchandise will be sold only fromo the first floor, with administrative offices housed on the second and third floors. The Bralys have yet to decide what to do with the fourth floor.
The bank’s old vault has been converted into a “surprise area,” which Bralys’ Facebook followers have been busy trying to guess its use.
