The new store in Grain Valley will feature nearly 15,000 sq. ft. of retail space. Construction will begin in spring 2025, with a planned store opening in early 2026.
“Westlake Ace Hardware is excited to open a new Grain Valley location and showcase our legendary service, helpful advice, and the products customers need to get their projects done right,” said Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Ace Retail Holdings (parent company of Westlake Ace Hardware). “Being an integral part of the community is at the heart of who we are, and we look forward to becoming a trusted resource for our neighbors in Grain Valley.”
The relocated store in Olathe officially opened for business on March 28. It moved from nearby 120 N. Clairborne because of pending construction on East Santa Fe Street and its interchange with Interstate 35. All current store associates were transferred to the new 11,500-sq. ft. location. Rich Crawford, previously the general manager of the Westlake Ace store at 7851 West 151st Street in Overland Park, Ks., manages the new Olathe location.
In addition to selling lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies, both stores will offer such services as key cutting, screen repair, blade and saw sharpening, Ace Handyman Services referral, automotive key fob replacement, and propane tank exchange. Several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts will be featured in the locations, selling such brands as Stihl, Ego, and Milwaukee outdoor power equipment; Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints; Garden Center featuring annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, tropicals, and shrubs; Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Craftsman power tools; Weber, Traeger, and Big Green Egg grills and accessories; Scotts lawn care products; and Yeti coolers, drinkware, and accessories.
