Westlake Ace Hardware has signed lease agreements to open two new stores in the greater Charlotte, N.C., area.
A 9,000-sq. ft. store will be developed in the Ballantyne Commons East Shopping Center (15221 John Delaney Drive). Renovations to the space will begin this spring, with an anticipated soft opening during late summer 2025.
A new store in the Village Commons at Wesley Chapel shopping center (6422 Weddington Road) in Wesley Chapel, N.C., is tentatively scheduled to open in early 2026. Construction of the 15,000-sq. ft store will begin in early 2025.
Westlake Ace currently owns and operates 14 stores in North Carolina under the Westlake Ace and Outer Banks Ace brands. A new Westlake Ace location in Charlotte’s Rozzelle Crossing Shopping Center will open its doors on Friday, February 28.
When open, the new stores will sell lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies and offer such services as key cutting, automotive key fob replacement, and propane tank exchange. The stores will also showcase several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such brands as:
• Stihl, Ego and Milwaukee outdoor power equipment
• Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints
• Diablo saw blades and power tool accessories
• A full-line Garden Center featuring annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, tropicals, and shrubs
• Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Craftsman power tools
• Weber, Traeger, and Big Green Egg grills and accessories
• Scotts and Miracle-Gro lawn and plant care products
• Yeti coolers, drinkware, and accessories

The new Ballantyne Commons store will begin accepting employment applications in late spring 2025. Applications for employment at the Wesley Chapel location will be accepted in late fall 2025.
